LowDown joins the outsourcing craze? Can it be true?

In keeping with current global trends....the Lowdown band has realized it's both cheaper and more cost effective to outsource band positions. Effective immediately...the new lead vocalist will be Rajeesh "Scooter" Patel

On guitar we'll have Tico (the tick) Morales

And the bass guitar will be handled by Zed "Ted" Enkeljdacmsx

You'll be happy to know that Smokin Joe will still be on drums!!

Lowdown Fun Fact #12

Many of you may already know that Mike the guitar player grew up on a farm in the countryside with his father...but what you may not have known is Mike's real name is
Mikel Abu Ja Kub Ben Ishak and comes from a long and time honored line of desert Sheiks from the Persian Gulf. His family immigrated here 3 generations ago to escape religious persecution and we've all benefited ever since. So if you ever hear us fondly referring to him as "The Sheik" at shows..now you'll know why!!

On a more serious note........

John's twin boys have taken ill...so the band is going to take a couple weeks off so he can tend to their medical care. From what I understand, it's an issue of high fever and perhaps inflammation...which many of you know can be very serious.

Family members are especially important...and in a case like this all prayers and well wishes will be gratefully accepted.

Although I have been to John's house many times...I never had a chance to play with the boys..although from what I understand, Mike the guitar player has some pictures of them...we may post at some time. Thank you for all your support!!

The Parrot Bay

If you haven't had a chance to come see us at the Parrot Bay Bar and Grill in Stony Point, N.Y. you're missing out on a truly personalized experience. It's smaller room and cozy atmosphere really brings out the true sounds of the band. Sometimes the rooms in larger places don't allow the sound to mix as well.

Our favorite part of the Parrot bay, however, are the owners Julia and Mike. They have been strong supporters of live music and our band for quite some time now and we equally support them. Trust me when I say you don't meet many clubowners with this kind of character.

The food is great, the beer is cold, and it's the only bar with enough headroom for patrons (and the occasional singer) to get up on top and sing from. So if you're looking for a good time and you haven't made the drive to Stony Point yet, take it from me personally...it's well worth the drive.

Drunk of the weekend award

Goes to CHIHUAHUA MAN at Rhodes tavern on Friday for enlightening me on the philosophies of snakeskin boots and PETA assasins in between sets!!!

Shame on me!!!

For being such an ass when Mikey Misfortune had his E string go out of tune on Tom Sawyer last night....Mikes an excellent guitar player and I am off to penance!!

Also....hats off to Smokin Joe for doin such a kickin job on Moby Dick last night. Bonham would have shed a tear.

Get well Sue!!!

Memory lapse is a family disease. With the proper medical help and all our support...you can pull through. We're all rooting for you!!!

A special ending

A special thanks to Mikey guitar for his stellar finale on Sir Duke

That type of steel concentration and flawless effort...no matter what's in front of you...deserves special commendation.

Happy 4th of July

Ok...it's 3:45 am after the gig and as you can clearly tell by now...I have no life...so I may as well post. We had a fun time as always at Rhodes and thanks to all our friends who came out on the holiday weekend.
