Rhodes Tavern last Sat night
If you didn't get a chance to see us at Rhodes this saturday past you missed a really good time. The place was packed wall to wall with a partying crowd and the revelers never left the dance floor. I'd like to thank all our friends who were able to come out that night. It was great to see so many familiar faces.

Return to Mabel Morans
I just wanted to thank everyone for coming out to this gig. This place is tucked away in Monroe NY but is full of energy and dancing. It has a very young crowd that is very familiar with the type of classic rock we perform. We've had a great time both times we've played and look forward to our return on Dec 6.

Mable Morans
I just wanted to personally thank all our friends that came out to Mable Morans the other night. We had a great time there and have been rebooked for Nov 8. The owners and staff that night were terrific and we look forward to our return visit.

Who the heck is Johnny Cracker?

Perhaps one of life's most ancient questions, but according to Geraldo Rivera's latest expose....the real question is.... JUST WHAT IS Johnny Cracker?
Originally derived from the Latin Root word Crackinus Gelatinous....some believe the Anglicized Johnny Cracker is actually more a state of mind...than a physical person.

Still others point out that it's more of a Ramones thing. Where each member of the band took the same last name in a show of solidarity towards one another...i.e. Joey Cracker on drums, Johnny Cracker on bass, Terry Cracker on vocals...and of course on guitar...Nacho Supreme.

We'll leave it up to you to decide.

THE BIGHOUSE FOR JOHNNY CRACKER???

So at our last gig...Johnny Cracker...totally to everyones surprise....turned to a young lady who may well have been under the age of 18 and said "HOW WOULD YOU LIKE A LITTLE DATE RAPE?"
The music screeched to a halt as the young woman screamed and ran out of the venue.
Rumor has it charges may be filed. We'll keep you all posted.

LowDown joins the outsourcing craze? Can it be true?

In keeping with current global trends....the Lowdown band has realized it's both cheaper and more cost effective to outsource band positions. Effective immediately...the new lead vocalist will be Rajeesh "Scooter" Patel

On guitar we'll have Tico (the tick) Morales

And the bass guitar will be handled by Zed "Ted" Enkeljdacmsx
You'll be happy to know that Smokin Joe will still be on drums!!

Lowdown Fun Fact #12

Many of you may already know that Mike the guitar player grew up on a farm in the countryside with his father...but what you may not have known is Mike's real name is
Mikel Abu Ja Kub Ben Ishak and comes from a long and time honored line of desert Sheiks from the Persian Gulf. His family immigrated here 3 generations ago to escape religious persecution and we've all benefited ever since. So if you ever hear us fondly referring to him as "The Sheik" at shows..now you'll know why!!

On a more serious note........

John's twin boys have taken ill...so the band is going to take a couple weeks off so he can tend to their medical care. From what I understand, it's an issue of high fever and perhaps inflammation...which many of you know can be very serious.
Family members are especially important...and in a case like this all prayers and well wishes will be gratefully accepted.
Although I have been to John's house many times...I never had a chance to play with the boys..although from what I understand, Mike the guitar player has some pictures of them...we may post at some time. Thank you for all your support!!

The Parrot Bay

If you haven't had a chance to come see us at the Parrot Bay Bar and Grill in Stony Point, N.Y. you're missing out on a truly personalized experience. It's smaller room and cozy atmosphere really brings out the true sounds of the band. Sometimes the rooms in larger places don't allow the sound to mix as well.
Our favorite part of the Parrot bay, however, are the owners Julia and Mike. They have been strong supporters of live music and our band for quite some time now and we equally support them. Trust me when I say you don't meet many clubowners with this kind of character.
The food is great, the beer is cold, and it's the only bar with enough headroom for patrons (and the occasional singer) to get up on top and sing from. So if you're looking for a good time and you haven't made the drive to Stony Point yet, take it from me personally...it's well worth the drive.

Drunk of the night award goes to............
Get well Johnny

Ok..so it's 3:45 am Friday night after the gig and here I sit intent on making an entry before bed. First off I'd like to thank all our friends who drove out to support the band at our new venue. Second off...Typhoid Johnny was contagious again tonight. Although I felt bad for him... I felt worse for poor Sue..who no doubt will have to nursemaid him through his latest bout of bassilliphilous intoxicus. We hope he feels better soon. I will write more about the gig tomorrow.

Gossip 6-26-08

So former BFF's Johnny Cracker and Mike have been having a heated debate about.....everything. While Mike would like to see some showtunes added to the bands lineup...Johnny Cracker is sticking to his hard line of hard tunes and the two just aren't seeing eye to eye.
Will the band be able to overcome this latest test of wills? Will they be able to hold the show together...despite all hair pulling and bellyaching? Will Johnny revoke Terry's blogging priveleges after reading this latest one? Tune in for the next blog to find out all the answers!!
Vershizzel Nizzel

WELL HOLY CRAP!!!
That's really all that came to mind when the idea occured to me that if the band had a section for blogging that it might help if one of us actually wrote something. With that in mind I contacted Johnny Cracker (who's like God in the computer world) and suggested he wave his magic wand and allow me access to our own band website. My hope is to bring all those who dare read these precious gems valuable insight into the inner workings of the Lowdown Band....as seen through the eyes of one...very humble...lead singer...yours truly.
Terry
